What attracted you to healthcare?
I’ve been in healthcare for several years now, but when I first started my career I was at a sports and entertainment company that fundraised for non-profits. I really liked that they had a mission of doing good for others. When I moved on from that position, I was looking to find some mission-driven work and that led me to healthcare.
What is your role at CarePort, and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m a Senior Marketing Manager here at CarePort, overseeing all of the marketing activities for our Care Management product suite. A “typical day” could be almost anything. I could be helping with thought leadership webinars, developing customer communications, assisting sales with presentations, developing collateral, talking points, and messaging – it’s a very broad role.
What aspect of your role here do you enjoy the most?
I really enjoy the broad scope of the role! I get to do a lot of different marketing activities that span different teams and different departments, and I get to work with both people who are both remote and in the Boston office. I have the opportunity to work with anyone and everyone which keeps things interesting.
What do you like most about working at CarePort?
I really enjoy my coworkers. I’m actually working with a couple of folks who I’ve had the pleasure of working with at previous positions, and I’m also meeting a lot of great new people here. Everyone is really driven, but also fun to be around – it’s just a good environment to be in!
What would you do for a career if you weren’t in marketing?
Oh, that’s a good question! I really wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger, but it turns out I just wanted to hang out with puppies all day. I didn’t actually want to do surgery or deal with lizards or any other non-canine animals! So, of course that fell through.
If you had to eat one food every single day, what would it be?
I don’t know if this counts as a food, but I put Frank’s hot sauce on everything. EVERYTHING! I already eat that every day anyway, so I’ll go with that.
