CarePort’s COVID-19 product enhancements helped streamline communication between cross-continuum healthcare providers throughout the pandemic
BOSTON –– May 4, 2021 — CarePort, powered by WellSky®, a market leader in care transitions, today announced that its COVID-19 product enhancements have achieved an Honorable Mention in the “Pandemic Response” category of Fast Company’s 2021 World Changing Ideas Awards. These awards honor the businesses, policies, projects, and concepts that are actively engaged and deeply committed to pursuing innovation when it comes to solving, among other things, critical health crises.
As healthcare providers grappled to manage COVID-19 patient surges at the onset of the pandemic, CarePort swiftly implemented COVID-19-specific product innovations to enhance communication, transparency, and collaboration between disparate stakeholders across the care continuum. These product enhancements enabled hospitals to communicate patients’ COVID-19 testing status to post-acute providers in real time, while also allowing post-acute providers to proactively convey their willingness and ability to accommodate patients with positive, negative, or pending COVID-19 test results. Given the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 crisis, the enhanced communication afforded by CarePort’s product innovations proved critical in ensuring the safety of patients and staff within both the acute and post-acute care settings.
“When the pandemic first hit, the CarePort team rose to the occasion to help our customers on the frontlines,” said Lissy Hu, CEO and founder of CarePort. “We are honored by this recognition, and I am immensely proud of the CarePort team for their dedication in the fight against COVID-19.”
World Changing Ideas Award recipients are selected by a panel of eminent Fast Company editors and reporters. Fast Company’s Summer 2021 issue (on newsstands May 10) will showcase some of the world’s most inventive entrepreneurs and companies, like CarePort, tackling exigent global challenges.
“There is no question our society and planet are facing deeply troubling times. So, it’s important to recognize organizations that are using their ingenuity, impact, design, scalability, and passion to solve these problems,” says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “Our journalists, under the leadership of senior editor Morgan Clendaniel, have discovered some of the most groundbreaking projects that have launched since the start of 2020.”
