Electronic Notifications & Interoperability: Satisfying New Conditions of Participation Requirements

CMS recently released a final rule on healthcare interoperability with the goal of improving access and removing barriers for patients to make informed healthcare decisions. Part of this rule includes the creation of a new Condition of Participation requiring hospitals to share electronic ADT notifications with post-acute providers, PCPs and other organizations when a patient is admitted, discharged or transferred.
