WellSky VPN Tunnel Migration

WellSky is committed to optimizing solution performance, security, connectivity and monitoring to provide the best experience for our users. 

As part of this, we are migrating all client VPN tunnels for inbound and outbound interfaces to the WellSky datacenter.

VPN Migration FAQs

Q: Why is WellSky doing this VPN change? I just moved to a data center six months ago (for current Involta clients) 

A: We are looking to optimize security, connectivity and monitoring 

 

Q: How long will this migration take? 

A: Current turnaround time to start the VPN build is 24-48 hours after form completion and submission; most tunnels are configured and tested during that time frame. 

 

Q: When does my organization need to complete the migration?

A: Migrations must be started by December 31, 2023. 

 

Q: How will the VPN migration benefit us? 

 A: The VPN migration provides your organization up-to-date technology, enhanced security, and increased stabilization. 

 

Q: Why do we have to NAT? Why can’t you accept public IP’s? 

A: WellSky requests clients NAT to a /28 network, provided by WellSky, to ensure uniformity, and better ease of set up and maintenance, reducing IP conflicts.  

 

Q: Can the interface cutover be done after hours? 

A: Yes 

 

Q: Can I keep my current VPN? 

A: No. Once the new VPN is stood up, WellSky will delete the VPN on the WellSky side.

  

Q: Is this only for CarePort Care Management? 

A: Yes, this is only for the CarePort Care Management solution. 

 

Q: What about the other Allscripts applications? 

A: Please reach out to Allscripts; any additional tunnel changes will be facilitated by Allscripts. 

 

Q: Will Care Director share this tunnel like they do now? 

A: Allscripts Care Director is separate from CarePort Care Management. Any shared feed will be separated as part of this migration. 

 

Q: Who do I call for support of the new VPN? 

A: Continue opening support cases by calling support (866-790-8690) or through the WellSky Hub. 

 

Q: How will this affect our interfaces? Will the IPs change? 

A: Your destination IP addresses will change. A WellSky Interface Technician will guide you through changing those IP addresses. 

 

Q: Will ports change? 

A: No, ports will not change.
